The Flag Institute
The Flag Institute's website gives details of all the services offered by the Institute, including how to join the leading world's vexillological organization.
Flags of the World (FOTW)
The FOTW website is actually an archive of the discussions of the Flags of the World mailing list on Yahoo Groups. The list is the main contact point on the internet for anyone interested in flags (vexillology). The site itself contains hundreds of GIF files of flags of modern nations, states, and quite a few historical flags, along with synopsis of the discussions that have taken place on the list. Details of how to join the list are also given.

This site is run by Michael Jamieson Bristow, who also edits the definitive book "National Anthems of the World". On the site you can purchase sheet music for each national anthem.

This is a "clipping service", gathering together flag-related news items from around the world. Created by Charles Asburner and edited by Devereaux D. Cannon, Jr.
The Flags & Arms of the Modern Era (FAME)
This site, by Zeljko Heimer, specializes in the flags, both modern and historical, of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Balkans.
Flags of the Native Peoples of the United States
Don Healy's website covers the flags of the Native Americans in great detail. You can also find out about Don's book of the same title.
Vexillology
This site, by Dave Martucci, covers the creation of new personal flags, and the history of the American flag.
Sea Flags

Vexilla Mundi
Mello Luchtenberg's website on national and sub-national flags. Mello's site has contruction diagrams and recomenended Pantone colours for many flags.
As Bandeiras do Bacano
A website dedicated to the flags of Portugal, Portuguese-speaking countries and related issues (in Portuguese), by Antonio Martins. You don't need to be fluent in Portuguese to use this site!
